The Komet engines of the 1940’s and 1950’s were made in Västerås, Sweden by the Johannson brothers Harry and Bernt. These very well-made engines constituted Sweden’s most prolific model engine range. They appeared in spark ignition, glow-plug and diesel variants, with their 2.5 cc plain-bearing diesels being Sweden’s most popular home-grown engines during the 1950’s. A detailed article on the Komet engines, including bench tests of a number of these diesel models, may be found elsewhere on this website.
