B.M.P. 3.5
One of the earliest British production diesels, designed by Henri Baigent and manufactured in relatively small numbers during 1947 by a company in Bournemouth, England called Bijou Mechanical Productions (Bournemouth) Ltd. This 3.5 cc unit was the first twin ball-race diesel to appear in Britain - indeed, one of the first such diesels anywhere. It was extremely well made and a fine runner, but very heavy for its displacement and somewhat lacking in power. A detailed article about this engine may be found elsewhere on this web-site.
